HP Unveils New Magnesium Alloy Notebook

Inspired by aircraft construction for its durability, precision and light weight, HP DuraCase helps protect your notebook from wear and tear.

The new HP DuraCase features a full magnesium alloy chassis creates an incredibly strong case to protect the top and bottom of the notebook against rigorous usage. Magnesium alloy is 18 times stiffer than plastic.

A magnesium/aluminum display enclosure creates a stiffer more durable display panel that is still lightweight.

When you close the lid, reinforced latching with 4-point lock down1 creates better protection of your system against shock and side impacts.
