IMA to Hold Magnesium Applications Seminars in US and Germany
2010-06-30
The International Magnesium Association (IMA) will again offer two versions of its Magnesium Applications Seminars (formerly Magnesium in Automotive Seminars) for 2010. The Magnesium Applications Seminars expand on the past series of highly popular Magnesium in Automotive Seminars which have been popular for years but which focused only on that market segment. “The majority of topics which we covered in our popular automotive seminars really applied to numerous other application categories” stated Greg Patzer, IMA’s Executive VP. “We realized that subjects dealing with new alloys, coatings, joining and a host of other topics should be presented to a wider audience. Our goal is to educate industry that magnesium should be the primary material of choice, it is afterall the “lighter light metal.”
The year’s first Magnesium Applications Seminar will be held Thursday, October 7, 2010 in Munich, Germany at the Holiday Inn Munich – City Center. The official language of the Seminar is English. Registration for the event includes a Reception on Wednesday evening, October 6th, Exhibits from magnesium producers, suppliers and manufacturers, and the Seminar on Thursday. The year’s second Magnesium Applications Seminar will be held Thursday, October 28, 2010 at the Laurel Manor in Livonia, Michigan, USA. Again the official language of the Seminar is English. Registration for the event includes Exhibits from magnesium producers, suppliers and manufacturers, and the Seminar itself.
Both seminars will present topics that provide pertinent information relative to automotive, medical, sporting goods, tools, 3C and other industries and applications. Each seminar will be different and will be designed to meet the needs of the region in which it is being held. Engineers, designers, and technicians involved with materials specification, structural design, mechanical design, purchasing professionals, and manufacturers will all find comprehensive educational presentations and case studies by magnesium experts on issues geared to provide the information and answers they need. The Seminars also feature exhibits from magnesium producers, suppliers and manufacturers offering technical assistance and information on designing for and manufacturing with magnesium.
