Alcoa Announces More Job Cuts in Lafayette, Indiana
2010-07-02
Alcoa recently announced the reduction of 65 positions at its operations in Lafayette. The company says 25 of those employees chose to accept early retirement or other packages. The reductions take effect July 5.
Alcoa says the cuts are related to the impact of the economic downturn. Alcoa laid off 17 workers at the Lafayette plant in February, which brought the number of workers to slightly less than 700.
