Catcher Technology to Expand in Tablet PC Market

Magnesium-alloy chassis maker Catcher Technology is eyeing the tablet PC market and is currently cooperating with clients to develop metal chassis for their products. The company expects the tablet PC chassis business to start contributing to revenues in 2011.

With the company's notebook chassis business expected to see flat performance or slight growth, Catcher expects its handset chassis and notebook chassis business to contribute 55% and 45% of its revenues in the third quarter.

Smartphone chassis are currently the main driver of Catcher's revenue growth and the company should benefit from strong smartphone shipments of 250 million units in 2010, and 400 million units in 2011
